My Way to Cope

I guess it seems like I went back into hiding, didn’t it? Well, I’ll do that sometimes, but I’ve recently been up to my ears preparing a clearer path for 2017. Even though it’s probably not going to be easy, I think it’s important to keep busy, or be creative, or something. It’s a good way to cope I guess.

There’s been a lot going on around here. I have a bunch of news and I usually hoard it all up and save that stuff for a newsletter, but I don’t foresee putting one out before the holidays. I’ll be sending out a winter newsletter around the end of January I think. At least that’s the plan. In the meantime, I’m going to spill the beans about the latest goings on in this blog entry.

I Digress…And This is Long

I’ll talk a bit about some art stuff, but then – I’m just warning you – I’ll then be going on a long, extensive twiddle-twaddle about the book. It’s not much further along than where it was last time we spoke. It’s been a slow progression because I’ve been busy with other things.

Over Inspired

Yesterday I typed “over-inspired” into Google because that was how I was feeling. I wondered if anyone else in the world felt the same way. Much to my surprise, a bunch of articles came up. Happy Birthday, Me.

Even with my brand new air conditioning unit in my studio, it just doesn’t seem to cut it in this extreme heat wave we’ve been having. Yesterday and today it’s well above 100 degrees and it’s not been fun. Yesterday I was nauseous and had a headache all day, and I tried to drink as much water as I could. I probably shouldn’t have been outside though. I had to drive to the San Fernando Valley, and that was just idiotic. By the time I got home, I’d already melted.

Day 18

I haven’t smoked a cigarette in 18 days. You’d think I’d be proud of myself, but all I want is to smoke a cigarette. Still, I haven’t yet and I’m just getting by day by day so far. In fact, I have been pretty holed up in my house so I won’t go out and buy a pack. I’ve been doing that on purpose, but the other day I was able to go out and see the Eva Hesse movie with a few of my friends in Santa Monica.
