I meant to write something here for a couple of weeks, but I’ve been too busy and exhausted. I kinda hit a brick wall yesterday, and on my way to the gallery to finish up some stuff for the installation, I had to turn around and come back home. I felt awful.
Today, I’m dragging. I’ve been resting and watching some TV. I have a few more things to do at Compound YV before I can call everything “done.” I’d really like to spend Friday doing nothing. I’m nearly there.
Here are a couple of sneak peeks of the installation:
I’ll take more shots today.
And that podcast I did is now up on their site. These are called Art Personals where artists talk about other people’s art. That was fun to do.
I’m pretty nervous about the opening, mostly because I don’t really have a “following” in the desert, and I don’t know how many people from LA are going to make the trek. I just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. I also hope I can stay up that late. Ha ha.
On the Mend opens this Saturday (6:00-10:00 PM) and runs through January 12th. I’m also giving an artist’s talk on December 7th at 1:00 PM.
Hope to see you there!
Hi Ayin…I hope your opening went well and you’re now getting a well-deserved rest. (I know how you work your buttocks off!! ) But mostly I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the podcast because I got to hear your voice WHILE reading your words. Which I loved. You’re such a good writer. And artiste. And humanoid. That’s all. Just checking in, saying hi, and sending love. KIM from ABQ.
Thank you Kim! Your support is felt! I love you!
