I’m now convinced I can’t do anything without making a mountain of mistakes. I’m coming to accept it. Maybe I should just let go of trying to be perfect and see that there’s a kind of charm to all the little fuck-ups, and do the best I can. I mean, that’s all I can do.

Mending Ideas Together

I’ve been ruminating on the concept for my solo show that’s not taking place until about a year from now. It will be exhibited at Compound Yucca Valley here in the high desert. It takes me a good long time to come up with my ideas for shows, so I’m glad I have this time.

Brain Travel

This piece has been on my mind, a lot. I made it for the second Jerusalem Biennale in 2015. My good friend and curator, Anne Hramodka went on a trip to Israel with a group of people and asked them all to collect ephemera during their stay, be it receipts, paper trash, bags, stickers, stationery, hotel matches, or whatever could be flattened into a suitcase and be brought back to me so I could make art out of it.
